Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park - Overnight Karatu
Your safari adventure begins with morning pickup from your Arusha hotel or Arusha Airport (additional charges apply for JRO airport transfers). After briefing, we depart for Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees.
Enjoy full day game drives with picnic lunch at one of the park's scenic spots. Tarangire is particularly spectacular in dry season when wildlife concentrates along the Tarangire River. Look for lions, leopards, and the park's famous tree-climbing pythons.
In late afternoon, exit the park and drive to Karatu (approximately 1.5 hours) for dinner and overnight at your selected lodge. Enjoy the cooler highland temperatures and prepare for tomorrow's journey to Serengeti.
Day 2: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast (around 7:00 AM), begin your journey to the world-famous Serengeti National Park. The scenic drive takes us through Ngorongoro Conservation Area with optional stops at viewpoints.
Enter Serengeti at Naabi Hill Gate (around midday) for picnic lunch with panoramic views. Afternoon game drives through Serengeti's endless plains, searching for the Big Five and observing seasonal wildlife movements. Your guide will tailor routes based on current animal activity.
As sunset paints the savannah golden, head to your selected camp/lodge in central Seronera area. Dinner and overnight in the heart of Serengeti, listening to the sounds of the African wilderness.
Day 3: Full Day Exploring Serengeti National Park
Today is dedicated to full-day exploration of Serengeti's diverse ecosystems. Start with early morning game drive (departing around 6:30 AM) when predators are most active. Your guide will take you to prime wildlife viewing areas based on recent animal movements.
Enjoy picnic lunch at a scenic kopje (rock outcrop), then continue with afternoon game drives. The Serengeti offers unparalleled wildlife viewing - from massive herds during migration season to resident populations of lions, cheetahs, and elusive leopards year-round.
Return to your accommodation for evening relaxation. Optional night game drive available at some lodges (additional cost). Dinner and overnight in Serengeti.
Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Morning game drive in Serengeti with breakfast at camp/lodge. We then begin our journey toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area (approximately 4-5 hours drive), with game viewing en route through different habitats.
Stop at Olduvai Gorge Museum (optional) to learn about the "Cradle of Mankind" before ascending the crater highlands. Arrive at your crater rim lodge in time for sunset views over the caldera.
Dinner and overnight at your Ngorongoro accommodation, with cooler temperatures at this elevation providing a comfortable night's rest before tomorrow's crater descent.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Tour - Overnight Karatu/Lake Manyara
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater at dawn (around 6:30 AM) when animal activity peaks. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is often called "Africa's Eden" due to its dense wildlife population in a stunning volcanic caldera.
Morning game drives offer excellent chances to see the Big Five, including endangered black rhinos. Enjoy breakfast at scenic Ngoitokitok picnic site near a hippo pool. After lunch, ascend the crater walls and drive to Karatu or Lake Manyara area (1-2 hours).
Dinner and overnight at your selected lodge near Lake Manyara or in Karatu, with time to relax by the pool before your final safari day.
Day 6: Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
After breakfast, enter Lake Manyara National Park for morning game drives. This compact park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, and thousands of flamingos that paint the lake pink seasonally.
Explore diverse habitats from lakeshore to groundwater forests. Look for troops of baboons, blue monkeys, and if you're lucky, lions lounging in acacia trees. Exit the park by midday and begin return journey to Arusha.
Arrive in Arusha by late afternoon (around 3-4 PM) for drop-off at your hotel or airport. End of services with unforgettable memories of Tanzania's incredible wildlife and landscapes.
