Day 1: Arrival in Arusha - Safari Preparation

Welcome to Tanzania! Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you'll be met by our representative and transferred to your Arusha hotel (approximately 1 hour drive). The remainder of your day is at leisure to relax after your international flight.

In the evening, enjoy a comprehensive safari briefing with your private guide who will accompany you throughout your bush adventure. Discuss wildlife viewing priorities, packing recommendations for both safari and beach portions, and any special requests you may have.

Overnight at your Arusha hotel with options ranging from comfortable midrange to luxury properties. Dinner included at the hotel restaurant featuring both international and Tanzanian cuisine options.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After an early breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park (approximately 2.5 hour drive). Known as the "Elephant Playground," Tarangire hosts large herds year-round alongside ancient baobab trees that dot the landscape.

Full day of game drives with picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the Tarangire River. Spot lions, zebras, giraffes, and numerous bird species including the endemic ashy starling. The park is particularly spectacular in dry season (June-October) when wildlife concentrates around remaining water sources.

As the sun sets, drive to your selected midrange or luxury lodge near Karatu for dinner and overnight. Enjoy your first sundowner in the bush while recounting the day's wildlife sightings.

Day 3: Karatu to Central Serengeti

Morning departure after breakfast for the legendary Serengeti National Park. The scenic drive takes us through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with possible wildlife sightings en route and breathtaking views from the crater rim.

Enter Serengeti at Naabi Hill Gate for picnic lunch before afternoon game drives in Central Serengeti. This area is rich with resident wildlife year-round including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and elephants. Your private guide will use radio contact with other vehicles to track recent wildlife movements.

Arrive at your selected midrange or luxury lodge/tented camp in Central Serengeti in time for sunset. Enjoy dinner under the stars with the sounds of the African wilderness surrounding you.

Day 4: Full Day Central Serengeti Exploration

Today is dedicated to full day game drives in Central Serengeti with your private guide. Morning drives focus on predator activity when lions and leopards are most active. Visit the Seronera River Valley where wildlife congregates year-round.

Picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint followed by afternoon drives to kopjes (rock outcroppings) that serve as lion observation points and leopard hiding spots. The Serengeti offers different highlights each season - from the Great Migration (Dec-Jul) to resident predator action (Aug-Nov).

Optional sunset drive returning to your accommodation for dinner. Evening wildlife lecture by camp/lodge naturalist available at most properties (subject to availability).

Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Early morning game drive with breakfast boxes to maximize wildlife viewing at dawn. Your guide will target areas not yet visited based on recent wildlife movements and your personal interests (birding, photography, specific species).

Return to camp for lunch before beginning your afternoon drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The route offers stunning highland scenery and possible Maasai cultural encounters (optional visits available at additional cost).

Arrive at your crater rim lodge in time for sunset views over the caldera. Dinner and overnight at your selected midrange or luxury property, with cooler temperatures at this elevation providing a comfortable night's rest.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater Tour to Lake Manyara

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater at dawn (around 6:30 AM) when wildlife is most active. This UNESCO World Heritage Site hosts about 25,000 large animals in its volcanic caldera, including all the Big Five.

Morning game drives offer excellent chances to see endangered black rhinos, large elephant herds and abundant predators. Breakfast at the scenic Ngoitokitok picnic site near a hippo pool, surrounded by wildlife.

After lunch, ascend the crater walls and drive to Lake Manyara National Park for an afternoon game drive focusing on tree-climbing lions and diverse birdlife. Overnight at your Lake Manyara lodge.

Day 7: Lake Manyara to Arusha - Flight to Zanzibar

Morning game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, known for its groundwater forests, alkaline lake, and dramatic Western escarpment. Look for the famous tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons, and thousands of flamingos during wet season.

Return to Arusha by early afternoon for lunch (own arrangement) before transferring to Arusha Airport for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar (flight cost included). Upon arrival, you'll be met and transferred to your beach resort.

Check in to your selected midrange or luxury beachfront property with the remainder of the day at leisure. Dinner included at your hotel with options for beachfront dining under the stars.

Day 8-9: Zanzibar Beach Relaxation

Two full days to enjoy Zanzibar's pristine beaches and turquoise waters. Your time is completely at leisure to unwind after your safari adventure. Most properties offer:

- White sand beaches with loungers and shade
- Swimming pools with ocean views
- Spa facilities with traditional treatments
- Water sports including snorkeling, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding
- Optional excursions to Stone Town, spice farms or dolphin tours (additional cost)

All meals included at your resort with options for romantic beach dinners. Overnight at your Zanzibar beach resort soaking in the Indian Ocean ambiance.

Day 10: Zanzibar Departure

Enjoy a leisurely final morning in paradise with time for one last swim or beach walk. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for lunch at the resort (included until standard check-out time).

You'll be transferred to Zanzibar Airport (ZNZ) in time for your departing flight, marking the end of your unforgettable Bush to Beach adventure. For guests continuing to Dar es Salaam or other destinations, we can arrange additional transfers and accommodations upon request.
