4 Days Mount Meru Trekking Adventure

Day 1: Arusha to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m)
After breakfast, we pick you up from your Arusha hotel (around 8:00 AM) for the 1-hour drive to Arusha National Park gate. Complete registration and meet your mountain crew.
The trek begins through lush montane forest, where you might spot colobus monkeys and tropical birds. After 4-6 hours of steady climbing, we reach Miriakamba Hut (2,514m) where you'll enjoy hot meals prepared by our cook.
Spend the evening relaxing at the hut with panoramic views over the surrounding plains. Early night rest prepares you for tomorrow's ascent as temperatures begin to drop.
Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut (3,570m)
After breakfast (around 8:00 AM), we begin the steep climb through open moorland dotted with giant lobelias and groundsels. The trail offers spectacular views of Meru's ash cone and the distant peak of Kilimanjaro.
We reach Saddle Hut (3,570m) after 3-5 hours, where you'll have lunch and rest. In the afternoon, optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru (3,820m) rewards you with breathtaking sunset views over the savannah below.
Early dinner and rest as we prepare for the midnight summit attempt. Temperatures drop significantly at this altitude, so ensure you have proper warm clothing.
Day 3: Summit Day - Socialist Peak (4,562m) to Miriakamba Hut
Wake at midnight for light snacks before beginning the challenging 5-7 hour summit push. Using headlamps, we navigate rocky trails and steep sections with fixed ropes near the crater rim.
Reach Socialist Peak (4,562m) at sunrise for unforgettable views across the crater and Kilimanjaro floating above the clouds. After celebrations and photos, descend carefully to Saddle Hut for brunch and rest.
Continue descending through changing vegetation zones to Miriakamba Hut (2,514m) where you'll enjoy a well-earned hot meal and full night's rest.
Day 4: Miriakamba Hut to Arusha
After breakfast, make the final 3-4 hour descent through the forest, watching for wildlife and enjoying different perspectives of the mountain you've conquered.
At the park gate, receive your summit certificates before transferring back to Arusha. Arrive by early afternoon (around 2-3 PM) for drop-off at your hotel, marking the end of your Mount Meru adventure.
